Your Weight Lifting Routine - Ways To Improve It

If you lift weights, you know that at times you get stuck. You hit a point where you aren't improving that much at all. You might even start to get bored with your workout. Due to how the body adapts so easily, it's important to mix up your routine so that you won't get too used to it. This will help you start to perform better gaining endurance and strength compared to if you did the same thing all the time.

The first way to mix up your weight lifting routine is to change the way that you lift. This might mean changing up the order of your exercises or what you focus on. Most do legs, pushing, and pulling days to get all the muscle groups. Make new workouts where you mix everything up completely to challenge yourself a bit more.

Change the way you lift each repetition. One technique is to not only do a full repetition but to also do half ones as well. You can do just the bottom half of an exercise as well as just the top half. Sometimes you might be able to do more weight doing one of the halves because those muscles might be stronger. The advantage of this is that you can challenge yourself more.

Slow down. Sometimes you need to do slower repetitions to get benefit from it. Slow down and consider holding the weight at a certain position. If you don't rush yourself at times you can improve since you are controlling the weight more than you would if you are rushing through that specific exercise.

Have your spotter help you do a few extra repetitions even after you are tired. At times those last few when you are fatigued can do more for you than the repetitions leading up to it.

As a general rule of thumb, change up your workout and don't be scared to try new techniques. While some won't work for you, many of them will.
