Zeolite - Nature's Detoxifier

It seems everywhere we go these days, we find pollution. Toxins are in the food we eat, the air we breathe, and the water we drink. There are many different methods and systems for detoxification on the market today, and most of them just end up re-introducing the toxins you're trying to get rid of back into your body. This can cause serious side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, headaches, etc...

Zeolite is different.

Zeolites are complex three dimensional crystalline frameworks formed as a result of the chemical reaction between volcanic glass and saline water. Their structure is porous with interconnecting channels. These cavities and channels compose up to 51% of zeolite's volume. (Dr. Howard Peiper) It is the network of channels and the alkaline nature of the zeolite which has earned it nickname of "molecular sieve." Extremely versatile, zeolite can adsorb (to gather on a surface in a condensed layer) or absorb gases, moisture, heavy metals, low-level radioactive elements and a multitude of other solutions. Industrially, zeolites are used as water softeners, detergents, in waste water treatment, and even to clean up radioactive wastes.

The same properties which make zeolite useful for industrial purposes allow them to also clean and detoxify animal and human bodies. Pigs fed clinoptilolite zeolite showed beneficial weight gains and were less subject to disease than pigs fed normal diets. (Hadzija) TMAZ, a natural clinoptilolite zeolite, has demonstrated antioxidant activity in humans. (Ray Sahelian) Zeolite is able to trap free radicals in its structure and eliminate them from the system. A study done in 2009 showed that "daily use of an activated clinoptilolite suspension represents a potentially safe and effective way to remove toxic heavy metals from the body through increased urinary excretion without removing clinically detrimental amounts of vital electrolytes." (James L. Flowers) Zeolite has a particular affinity for heavy metals, and thus leaves the lighter and safer metals in your body. Other possible benefits are improved immune function (by removing toxins and allowing the immune system to work more efficiently), pH balance (zeolite is alkaline and helps reduce the acidity of your body), improved intestinal health (zeolite may fight against gastro-intestinal infections and can promote a healthier gut environment by removing toxins), and improved defense against viral infections (studies have shown that zeolite is very effective against several viruses) (Kelly R. Bright).
