Common Mistakes Made By Article Authors

As an article directory owner, I come across so many little mistakes many article authors make that will defeat their purpose of promoting whatever they have in mind through their articles. Common mistakes but can greatly affect the success of website promotion.

Misspelling:
One of the most common mistakes that come across is wrong spelling. Most authors do not take an extra three minutes to proof read their article before submitting to directories. It is some times understandable to see one or two error but up to six spelling mistakes in one article only shows that the author does not care and might not be an authority in the subject matter. People are looking for article that is written by someone that knows what he or she is talking about and is well educated. If your article is full of misspelling more than likely the reader will abandon it and will not get to the resource box.

Not Interesting:
When you write an article that is not interesting, do not solve any problem or do not teach anything, no one will read it till the end, most people will stop reading at the first paragraph. The more interesting the article is the more likely people will read it. It is easy for people to find out that your article is only a bunch of advertising word put together with a title and does not offer any meaningful solution. Once they find that out, guess what is next? They will take their search to some where else. If you do not know what to write you can tell a personal story of some sort but for the sake of your time and effort check your spelling and grammar, make your article interesting, solve problem or offer an idea.

Broken Link:
This one is not being made as much but it is the only one that completely defeats your purpose of writing the article in the first place. I am assuming your purpose is to promote something and the only place in your article to do that is in your resource box. When a link that will take the reader to your website is broken you have just wasted your time writing and submitting the article. Taking one minute to check and test your resource link to make sure it is working should be your number one concern. I have seen some resource with unbelievable typing mistake like “myflower.com” spelt as “myfolwer.com” an obvious mistake but deserves an extra one minute. Another one is URL without www dot before the name of the page.

Wrong Title:
When your article is not about what the title says the reader will quickly abandon the article. Stick to the title write about 10 ways to train a dog if that is what your title says. Once you are able to gain the confidence of your reader they will like to know what else you got that is when they start clicking on your resource box. Along side the wrong title is posting to wrong category when you make this mistake it is like you are hiding your article from the targeted reader, if your article is posted to health category when the article is about giving a speech no one will possibly see it unless by accident.

Submission Guideline:
Another mistake, and one that is a pet hate of many article directory owners, is article authors who do not read a sites terms of service and article submission guidelines prior to submission. This is shown repeatedly when authors submit articles with more links in the resource box, for example, or directly linking to an affiliate program. Although many errors are corrected by article directory owners, there are some that are simply rejecting articles that do not abide by the submission guidelines, as there are so many others to review that there is no time to correct articles.

Think about this there are lots of articles on the same subject you are writing about, why would any person read yours especially if it is full of misspelling, poor grammar, and does not solve or offer anything? People read article to gain knowledge or solve a problem and not to know about advertising the only reason they will click on your resource box is because they think you got some thing more. If you want your article to score high and make you some money then you should always use this error proof guideline. The biggest point to remember here is to double check an article before submission. Doing so will allow for the best possible results to be gained from the submission.
