Forklift Training Licence

As a Forklift driver, your chances of gaining employment are improved. Employers, employment agencies, jobs online show opportunities are increasing. With an increase in local jobs, warehouse jobs and factory jobs, chances are you will be in demand if you can operate a forklift.

People cause most accidents - Most accidents can be avoided - Forklifts Bite!

As a skilled forklift operator often working in congested areas you need to be aware of your actions, as complacency or routine could cause an accident or death. Warehouses are an ever changing entity with people, pallets, machinery all moving about, the ever present risk of damage, injury or accident will rear its ugly head and bite you, Forklifts Bite!

As an operator of a forklift driving in a warehouse, you have to be aware of the constant risks and hazards that change, otherwise the forklift will bite you!

Before you go on a forklift training course you do need to find out what you will be taught. A good course will have a training plan and should incorporate the following:

Pre Shift / Pre operational checks
Workplace Hazards
Safe operation of a Forklift
Training routines driving skills
Attachments
Refueling
General safe practices
Racking, pallets, roll cages, handling symbols
The Forklift Assessments theory and practical

Before a Practical Assessment can occur you must have received formal training and have completed the Forklift Theory Assessment. Once that has been completed you then can attempt the practical assessment.

A forklift operator must be trained and hold the relevant Certificate of Competency to operate a forklift in the workplace.
