Hi everyone…

The first few days of releasing Article Dashboard have been wild! We have had tons of people download the software and have over 100 articles submitted. We have a ton of new things in store but I just wanted to address a couple of issues here.

Bugs - If you have found a bug in the software, please let us know via our bug reports forum We have been receiving these via email, other forums, etc. To better serve you it will make it much easier if these were in one central area.

Installation issues - Article Dashboard has been tested to install in under 2 minutes on quite a few hosts, however, all hosts are not the same. Many people that are having installation issues are having them because their host has different settings than our script was made for. There are certain things that we can do to make our script install smoothly on more hosts such as fixing the case sensitive issue that some hosts have problems with.

We can not support every host on the internet for our users so we recommend Host Gator as a compatible host.

Finally, we have a release scheduled for Friday, September 9th. If we can get this out sooner we will. Here is what this upgrade addresses:

Bug Fixes

  • realmailer.php - line 23 - this is a minor issue that affects the real time email notifications and cron
  • weekmailer.php - line 19 - same as above for weekly notifications
  • Summary page - some people have problems displaying this correctly
  • Email Templates - some users have problems with {fname} token not working
  • Case sensitive hosts - some hosts are case sensitive and convert everything automatically to lowercase so we will just make all file names lowercase and delete this problem
  • fix urls for some pages ex. comments, rate article Article//2/comment

    • New Features

  • Article preview when submitting new article - when user is submitting new article allow them to preview first, then confirm
  • When log into admin show “review new articles” immediately
  • Ability to broadcast email to all members
  • Admin “review new articles” needs proper formating
  • When clicking on “edit” when approving new articles, automatically approve
  • Ability to delete articles directly when in admin mode
  • Ability to delete author
  • Make template boxes bigger

    • If anyone has anymore feature requests or bugs please get them on the forum ASAP so we can include them in this update. There are a ton of new features that will be added over time but we must prioritize and address the most pressing concerns and additions first. Thanks for helping us make Article Dashboard the best solution for article directory management! There are a lot of VERY cool things lined up ;)
