Have you ever wondered where these "meet-me rooms" are located?  Well, most of them are probably located in your urban downtown sections within office buildings where large corporations and businesses have historically gained access to telecommunications services through their network service providers and telecommucations companies' capacity to make peer-to-peer interconnections without expensive fees.  Network Service Providers and telephone companies have utilized these telecommunications hubs to ensure that their business and corporate customers could make interconnections with their broadband, phone, and voice communications.  Originally built and utilized by corporations themselves for their telecommunications company's easy access to services, the necessary equipment to make these peer-to-peer connections were located within meet-me rooms inside these corporate pieces of real estate.

As the telecommunications market has been opened up more to competition in recent years, meet-me rooms located within office buildings housing the necessary equipment for competitive service providers to utilize has created a highly competitive pricing situation where smaller providers have utilized meet-me rooms for bandwidth trading, allowing tenants within the building to have a choice of providers and giving the providers opportunity to compete for network bandwidth and to provide telecommunications providers the chance to inexpensively interconnect services from one location to another and to access multiple high-speed data networks from one location.  These meet-me rooms have now become necessary to the bandwidth trading marketplace, and they are utilized by network service providers and telephone companies alike.
