Fix The Computer CPU Speed

Do you want to fix the computer CPU speed and need to know how to change it?  Whether you have encountered a problem that calls for a definite change in the computer CPU speed, or whether you are wanting to change the CPU speed intentionally so as to "overclock the timing on your computer" — which is not suggested, because of potential risks that you take when you overclock the timing of the CPU speed on your computer — there is both a Windows Fix option utilizing a Windows hotfix update to your computer that will adjust the CPU speed, or there is a step-by-step manual way that you can fix the CPU speed yourself.  Let's try it both ways, then.  Below, there are two suggestions on fixing the computer CPU speed and how to change it:

  1. The first option above, regarding the use of a Windows hotfix update to utilize for changing the computer CPU speed, involves using this method only for a "specific" problem.  In explanation, the specific problem for which this method is utilized has to do with your processor's maximum performance state not being restored if your CPU is always running at 100 percent, thereby preventing your computer from entering "the idle loop in which the CPU is dynamically adjusted based on current power policy values."  The solution to the problem is given at the Microsoft Help and Support Center website at the following URL:  http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=330512.
  2. The second option on how to fix the computer CPU speed and how to change it is given in an article posted at Pressbox online, Pressbox.co.uk, written in October of 2006, entitled "Fix the Computer CPU Speed and How to Change It."  This solution involves identifying the right kind of CPU that fits into your personal computer, buying that new CPU, coming back from the store and installing the new CPU unit into the computer, which is fairly easy; then you're good to go.  Make sure you are very careful about changing out the CPU, because, if certain things within your computer are touched by you accidentally, you can cause some very bad damage.  With this option, you need to decide whether you need a technician to install the new CPU or you want to do it yourself.

The last suggestion is taken from Press Box, and that suggestion is that you purchase yourself a good manual that gives step-by-step instructions on fix-it-yourself computer repair.  One suggested manual by Press Box is the Computer Fix: Do it Yourself guide.
