How to Use Usenet Servers
It's easy to learn how to use Usenet servers, a worldwide bulletin board system. Usenet users read and post messages called articles to a variety of distributed newsgroups. Users download and post messages to a single Usenet server, usually operated by their Internet service provider (ISP) or university, and then the servers exchange the messages with each other. Articles that users post to Usenet are broken down and organized into topical categories called newsgroups. Newsgroups are usually accessed through special client software that connects to a Usenet news server. Newsreader clients are available for all major operating systems and come in many different shapes and sizes. Mail clients or "communication suites" also usually have an integrated newsreader.
