Linux DVD Players
Linux DVD players are hard-to-find items. If you are looking to find yourself a Linux DVD player, the best way to begin your shopping is to find reviews that are online for Linux DVD players. In looking around at the most obvious sources online, I found that at CNet's official website, one of the best resources that I have utilized for finding product reviews and outside links that direct you to where you need to go, is located there. When searching CNet.com for Linux DVD players, a few outside links came up to help me in my shopping for a decent Linux DVD player. One site that appeared at CNet is the site at monstermarketplace.com, where one DVD player was found, the HDD DivX Media FM player 04, which is in the format of the MPEG1 - 4/DivX/DVD/VCD/MP3, and is supported by Windows 98 series operating systems and Windows 2000 series operating systems, as well as the MAC OS and Linux. This item can be viewed at Monster Marketplace online. Within my search was a stop at PC World online, where an article was read by me concerning the first Linux DVD player on the market in 2000 sold to businesses and later, in 2001, sold to individual consumers, created by InterVideo, called the InterVideo Lin DVD. The major Linux vendors, such as Caldera Systems, Corel, Red Hat, and SuSe, were, at that time in 2000, expected to bundle the software for use on home computers to play DVDs. For more Linux DVD players reviews, check out the website at Linux Journal, linuxjournal.com, where reviews have been done on the GNU/Linux DVD playback applications Xine, VideoLAN Client, MPlayer, and Ogle. At CNet's official website, you can access a Linux catalog to assist you in learning even more about Linux DVD players and software that is sold predominately to businesses through companies such as HP.
