Top DVD Players

Just a quick glance at the marketplace for DVD players lets a prospective buyer see the numerous possibilities for purchasing the best electronics around these days.  In order to find a list of the best DVD players around, I made a quick search through the Internet and found that the online review sources available on the Net today are the wisest resources to use to find out what consumers and the experts have to say with regard to the best brands and the newest disc formats played in these new DVD players.

  • Sound and Vision Magazine, soundandvisionmag.com, has many good articles and reviews on the latest DVD players that hit the market in 2006 that will play the new format discs, (hi-def) HD-DVD and Blu-ray formats.  The three top DVD players in Sound and Vision Magazine include the Sony Playstation 3, which is said to be a fine Blu-ray disc player, as well as the best gaming system on the market today.  The Sony Playstation 3 has been in a tight race with the Samsung and Panasonic Blu-ray disc players for the year.
  • Epinions, epinions.com, has the top 10 DVD players listed at their website, which include 3 Panasonic DVD players, the DMR-ES45VS combo, the DMREH55S DVD/HDD recorder, and the DMR  EH75VS  DVD/VCR/HDD recorder.  These units range in price from $170 to $419.
  • Also at Epinions' site, Sony has 3 players listed in the top 10 DVD players.  These players are the DVP-NS55P DVD player, the DVPFX810 portable DVD player, and the DVP-NS75H DVD player.  These three players range in price from $55 to $200.
  • The four players that made it into the top 10 DVD players at Epinions, besides Sony and Panasonic, are the Cyberhome CH-DVD 300S at a price of $29, the Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player at $430, the Phillips DVP642 at $45, and the Coby TF-DVD7107 portable DVD player at $84.

The Panasonic and Sony players did an average of 4 to 5 stars on reviews at Epinions, and the new Toshiba HD-XA2 HD-DVD player is reviewed at Sound and Vision Magazine as having come onto the marketplace with the capability to play the new formatted discs available on the marketplace today.  For a closer look at the Toshiba DVD players, see the website online at Sound and Vision Magazine, or check out the Toshiba official website for a showcase of this new Toshiba DVD player and older models, such as the HD-A2, the HD-A1, and the HD-XA1.
