Safe Weight Loss Advice

When people set out to lose weight, they are usually very impatient and want to see immediate results. Because of this, there are hundreds of fad diets, gimmicky weight loss programs, and magic pills marketed today which guarantee quick results. As tempting as these "solutions" may seem, they should be avoided.

Safe weight loss occurs slowly and naturally through the changing of one's lifestyle. A healthy diet and regular exercise are the healthiest ways to lose weight and keep it off.

So, where do you begin?

Step one is to layout a solid diet plan. A proper daily diet will include the recommended allowance of vitamins, minerals and proteins, while at the same time reducing the amount of calories. Women should aim for 1000-1200 calories each day, and men should be between 1200 and 1600 calories.

The second step to a safe weight loss program is a regular exercise routine. Exercise is the only safe method of boosting metabolism, and doing so will help your body burn off calories more effectively. Once you've gotten into the habit of exercising, you'll also notice a boost in energy and fewer feelings of depression.
