Here Are Ideas To Help You Experience Anxiety Relief

We know that suffering from anxiety can have a number of adverse affects on your health, both short-term and long-term. If you're experiencing some of the following symptoms, you could benefit from some advice on how to relieve the anxiety you are feeling before your health deteriorates any further. Feeling breathless, dizzy, chest pains, numbness in the arms and hands or fear are very common indicators of suffering with anxiety or panic attacks. Feeling anxious can also cause headaches, joint pains and nausea. Habitual smoking, drinking, overeating and drug abuse are also caused by stress.

Feeling anxious is how your body and mind respond to certain situations. And situations that cause one person to suffer a panic attack may not cause panic in another. What triggers a panic attack differs from one person to another. One person may become anxious when faced with a tight deadline, while another may thrive on having almost too much to do. The thought of being in public places terrifies some people, but others find it no problem at all. Classifying what causes a panic attack is almost impossible, because what causes a panic attack in one person could be a source of enjoyment for another. One needs to identify and manage what is causing the panic attacks for you personally, because allowing them to go untreated can have long-term health consequences.
Things and situations you feel that you have no control over can be very upsetting. But how you react when you do suffer from a panic attack is very important. You simply cannot control everything that happens to you, but you can choose how you react to the panic attacks and what you are going to do to stop them.
Here are some tips for experiencing anxiety relief:

Really focus on your breathing and breathe slow, deep breaths. Slowly count as you breathe in and out. Try to count up to 7 as you breathe in and as you breathe out. Try and imagine yourself in a quiet place. Maybe a deserted beach or a dark room in your house.

Exercise regularly. Exercising releases tension and anxiety from your body. Find something you enjoy that gets the major muscle groups going. Simply walking can really help or treat yourself and buy a Wii game.

Spend a few minutes simply counting, slowly and deliberately. This helps you to relax the mind.

Several times a day do some stretching exercises. Maybe first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Stretching relaxes the muscles and reduces tension.

Go for a massage. The back of your neck, shoulders and upper back get very tense. These muscles get especially tense when you are stressed.

Take hot showers and baths.

Listen to relaxing music.

Talk to your family and friends about what is causing you to have panic attacks.

Seek help when you need it. If you have recurring headaches and neck or upper back pain, and are having problems sleeping, you should see your doctor.

Using these ideas will help you experience anxiety relief and are critical to your overall health and happiness.
