How Else Can One Perform Meditation?

The varieties of meditation techniques are numerous. They differ from culture to culture, but the practices are all aimed at the same thing: to clear the mind so one can achieve wellness. Benefits from meditation have always been a come-on for those who are trying it for the first time. As it has already been established, meditation does wonders not only for the physical body, but for the mind and spirit as well.

Conventional meditation techniques include a variety of sitting and lying positions. Hindu and Buddhist meditative methods use the Burmese position, the half-lotus, or full lotus positions, which are generally variations of sitting cross-legged on the floor. There are also recommended meditations to do while walking, so the body gets an exercise, too. Below are some other suggestions on how you can meditate with everyday activities.

You can also meditate while eating. This is good for those people who want to lose weight. As you start to eat, concentrate, take a deep breath. When eating, concentrate on the way you eat, the way you chew the food, the way you swallow it. You can also concentrate on the food and how it tastes. When doing this type of meditation, you realize that you're taking your food slowly. By this, you help your digestive system in its work. Do it very slowly. You can do this type of meditation once a day and after a few weeks, you will find it very easy to adapt and you will feel more relaxed.

You can also meditate in the objects that you see around. You can meditate on their origins. It may be the origin of a table, a door, a cup, appliances or anything that you see. In this type of meditation, you must concentrate on that object, take a deep breath, then concentrate on how it was made. Take for example a book, concentrate on the book itself, on how it is made, on who wrote that book; when was it published, who published it, what are the machines they used to publish it. Concentrate on the book. Why did the author write it, what is its purpose, what is the reason for you to buy it? How did you find the book?

It doesn't matter what is your answer to that question, just concentrate. If your mind wanders around or if at any point you find it silly and weird, just bring back your concentration. You can do it for several minutes and after you're done. Then do whatever business or plan you have for that day.

You can do meditation by emptying your mind. But you must take note that this type of meditation can be very hard, because anything around you can be distracting. You must have to concentrate fully. In this type of meditation, you empty the thoughts in your mind, letting you aware with out using any objects.

Whatever type of meditation you use, what is important is that you consult your doctor and gather the necessary information, to make sure that it will greatly benefit your health. Remember, you do meditation to feel great that's why you have to do it the right way. Always take in consideration your health, because your health is your greatest wealth.
