When these shapes would be falling from the top, you can change the orientation of their shapes, so as to fit them in the gaps. In fact, it is one of the most important tricks that you need to understand very well when you are learning to play Tetris. If you are talking about the scoring systems in the game, you get the points for every complete line you make, and for every game you win. Moreover, you also get bonuses when you attain special tasks like completing three or more lines at a time, or scoring certain amount of points etc.

The popularity of the game is so wide spread that even the modern Ipods and phones have this game loaded in it. In addition, it has been proved that it can be very much useful in improving the efficiency of the human brain.
