A new web2 site called aniBOOM is up on the net.
aniBOOM is a unique user generated video site dedicated to animation content.
The site is a platform for animators to present their work to the mass audience, and to producers & distributors in the animation field.
The site's first event is an online animation festival with $50000 worth of prizes.
More than 1,500 movies, from all over the globe, have already been submitted.
The semi-finals, announcing the 25 final competitors, will take place on January 15, 2007. Two weeks after that, the grand prize winner of $25,000 and five other winners of $5,000 each, will be announced on January 30, 2007.
Aside of being a home for animators, one of the site's goals is to give the viewers a wide variety of quality animation films for entertainment purposes.
The site is also based on the concept of prize-awarding events, revenue share model for top ranked creators and, in the future, productions of original content from the site.
aniBOOM's revenue share model, allows each registered member, who has uploaded movies, to receive his own proportionate share, calculated in accordance with his ranking on the site.
