Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe Spied While Waiting For Its Turn In Traffic

This year will mark the arrival of an all-new range in the three-pointed star marque in the form of the Mercedes-Benz CLE. So far, more and more spy photos and videos of the car have been surfacing online and one of the latest is this shot from walkoARTvideos.

The video here shows a heavily camouflaged prototype of the vehicle with its roof exposed. The dimensions, bulges, and exposed areas do tell us a lot of some of the stuff we can expect from it.

Design

First, the size, two-door layout, and exposed roof all point out to the coupe character of the car in question. The CLE identity is also confirmed by the apparent likeness of the auto with the outgoing C-Class Coupe that it will be replacing.

Then, the layout of the exposed grille featuring a single louver going on each side of the Mercedes logo suggests that we are looking at the standard Benz version of it. In addition, the area not concealed by camo gives us a clear view of the scattered star pattern on the background and the redesigned grille panel.

Noticeable in the camouflaged test car, too, are the thin LED headlamps and the outline of the air intakes on the bumpers. Likewise, the body lines are all accentuated on the protrusions of the zebra-patterned wrap.

We couldn’t get a full view of the CLE Coupe’s rear from the angle the video was taken, but the rear displays a 2+2 seating configuration in the vehicle, a gorgeously sloping C-pillar and rear windshield, as well as a hint of a moonroof on top.

Powertrain

The Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe, along with its convertible variant, is expected to mirror the same inline-four power trims found in the C-Class, including the ones found in its AMG offerings. With that, its range-topping version, the AMG CLE, might produce up to 671 hp.
