Turkish actors Hande Erçel and Kerem Bürsin began starring in the drama series Sen Çal Kapimi (You knock on my door) last year together playing each other’s love interests on the show.
While the series has become very popular, the couple also sparked off-screen dating rumors. Having recently confirmed their romance, EW takes a look back at a timeline of their relationship so far.
July 2020: start of its new series
The two Turkish actors began working together in the first half of 2020 on their new series Sen Çal Kapimi, which finally premiered on July 8, 2020.
From the very beginning, the show has been very popular with fans, which has led to rumors about the couple’s relationship off screen.
August 2020: a clue to the future?
A month after the premiere of their show, the couple posted photos together on Instagram for the first time together. The co-stars appeared to be together in a restaurant where Erçel posted a selfie of her and Bürsin.
Meanwhile, Bürsin posted his own version of the selfie photo he was taking. Of course, this caused fans to be with both photos receiving millions of likes.
September 2020: A lot of Instagram posts
As the first season of the show continued, the couple began posting more and more on their Instagram profiles, with Erçel even subtitling her photo posted on September 25 with the tag “partners in crime “.
November 2020: Out and Together
At the time, the Turkish newspaper Milliyet reported that the couple were seen together, but alluded to the fact that it could be in the promotion of their program Sen Çal Kapımı (You knock on my door). When the couple saw each other together, they talked about the coronavirus pandemic and the need for people to wear masks.
December 2020: “partners in crime”
On New Year’s Eve 2020, both Erçel and Bürsin posted a black-and-white mirror photo along with captions related to being partners in crime. Erçel used the hashtag #alwaysfunwithmypartnerincrime while Bürsin used the hashtag #partnersincrime in his post.
April 2021: Make your relationship public
Erçel and Bürsin took a trip together to the Maldives in late April, where they shared a series of photos together, while confirming their romance for the first time.
Bürsin shared a photo on his Instagram of them sitting in a glass canoe along with the caption: “In the middle of the ocean with a canoe and just the two of us … perfect.”
Meanwhile, Erçel shared a picture of them together in the middle of nature with the headline: “Our joy makes the sprinklers come out … perfect.”
It also appears that Erçel’s sister, Gamze Erçel, joined the couple with her husband and daughter.
Gamze, who is a social media influencer with 3.9 million followers, was staying at the same resort where Erçel and Bürsin were staying: Ayada Maldives.
June 2021: an intimate portrait
Erçel, 27, recently posted the first romantic photo of her and Bürsin on her Instagram to wish her a happy 34th birthday. In the caption, he said, “Happy birthday to the funniest part of my life, I’m lucky to have you.”
He added: “Stay close to people who want sun.”
